Rapid Prototyping

Rapid Prototyping (additive fabrication) is a process in which CAD data (stl format) is sliced into very thin cross section layers which are then built one layer at a time with automated machines to form accurate three-dimensional models. These processes include SLA, SLS, FDM, 3D Printing, and others. Each of these processes produces a model with different physical properties. 3-D Technical Services can provide the RP process that is best suited for your project. What sets us apart from standard service bureaus is the talent and experience of our technicians in using these tools to create prototypes that look and function like the actual product.

In addition to the additive processes, 3-D offers rapid CNC machining (subtractive rapid prototyping). This process enables us to machine prototypes from the actual material that would be used in production.
